We’ve all been moved by recent events. The survivors at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are using their voices to speak for those who cannot, to say “never again,” and demand change.
We are asking the Doctor Who community to follow their example and to shine a light on this urgent issue.
This March, representatives of all your favourite Doctor Who podcasts and some special guests have come together to do a podcast commentary of the 1969 Patrick Troughton story The War Games.
But here’s the thing: we didn’t put this podcast on any one show’s feed. We released it to listeners who provided a donation to an organization committed to ending gun violence.
How to take part
Here’s what you have to do, between now and March 31st make a donation of $10 or more to:
- March For Our Lives
- Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence
- Moms Demand Action
- Community Justice Reform Coalition
The first three organizations are U.S.-Based and focused on changing American laws and policy. CJRC is also U.S.-Based and approaches their work to end gun violence with a focus on communities of color. (For more info about CJRC, please see our FAQ page.) All welcome international donations; however, if you live outside of the U.S. and want to make an equivalent donation to an organization in your own country here are some suggestions. (You may have others):
Once you’ve made your donation, send a copy of your receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org and you’ll get information on how to download your special commentary.
